Gateway Arch, St. Louis.
Day 5,
Monday July 30 - St. Louis, Mo.
Antique
Toy Museum, Stanton, Mo.
At the state line we were met by Sgt. James Post, one of the leading experts in vintage Police Cars and president of the PCOOA. Sgt. Post led us into the city of Eureka Springs in caravan. After checking into our Hotel, we participated in a light and siren cruise to a nearby lake where we were greeted by a local car club that sponsored a Bar-B-Que for our participants.
Pulaski County Sheriff J.T. Roberts met us at Route 66 Motors, east of Rolla, MO.
The Sheriff joined us for lunch at the "Cookin from Scratch" restaurant in Doolittle, MO.
Here is new and old again, a great example of a 1960's vintage Rambler Pulaski County Sheriffs patrol unit and the 2000 NMSP Cruiser.

Day 7, Wednesday August 1 - Tulsa, OK.
The Last Precinct Police Museum in Eureka Springs, AR.
Upon arrival at the Kansas state line, we were met by 3 state police vehicles with 7 state troopers. In addition to the troopers, we were met by another member of the PCOOA driving a restored 1964 Ford Galaxie Mayberry Police cruiser. In the town of Galena, local police officers and Cherokee County Sheriff's officers joined our caravan. We all traveled to the Rainbow Arch Bridge for photos. This bridge is the last remaining bridge of it's kind on Route 66. After that brief stop, the entire caravan of 10 vehicles continued to lunch at the "Café on the Route" restaurant in Baxter Springs.
Kansas State troopers met us at the Missouri state line.
Here is our caravan through Galena. The Mayberry car is in the foreground.
On the Rainbow Arch Bridge in Riverton, KS. The group stopped for photos on this last remaining cement arch bridge of its kind on old Route 66.

After lunch we waited for the media to show from nearby Jefferson, MO, but only the local Baxter Springs newspaper showed up on time. The television reporter showed up as we were leaving and we gave them some good footage and a brief interview before heading into Oklahoma. On the way to Tulsa, we detoured on the last remaining sections of 9-foot-wide roadway just west of the city of Miami.
