Services of Canada
CISC is an
organization that provides the facilities to unite the criminal
intelligence units of Canadian law enforcement agencies in the fight
against the spread of organized crime in Canada. |
 | CSE - Communications Security
Establishment
The CSE is
mandated to: acquire and provide foreign signals intelligence;
provide advice, guidance and services to help ensure the protection of
Government of Canada electronic information and information
infrastructures; and provide technical and operational assistance to
federal law enforcement and security agencies. |
 | CSIS - Canadian Security
Intelligence Service CSIS is a government agency
dedicated to protecting the national security interests of Canada and
safeguarding its citizens. The main objective of the Service is to
investigate and report on threats to the security of Canada, an objective
that it pursues while respecting the law and protecting human rights. CSIS
is unique in its role as the Government of Canada’s principal advisor on
national security. |

Intelligence Review Committee In 1984, the SIRC
was established as an independent body to review the activities of the
CSIS'. Parliament has given CSIS extraordinary powers to intrude on
the privacy of suspected terrorists or spies. |

Command Atlantic ACLANT is one of
NATO's two major strategic headquarters and the only one in North America.
It is the senior military authority for NATO land, sea and air forces in
the North Atlantic area, from the North Pole to the Tropic of Cancer, and
from the East Coast of North America to the West Coast of Africa and
Europe, approximately 12 million square miles. The Supreme Allied
Commander, Atlantic, is a U.S. Army General. He is nominated by the
President of the United States and approved by the North Atlantic Council,
NATO's highest governing body. He receives his direction from the NATO
