2006
Route 66 80th Anniversary
Emergency Vehicle Rally

DEPARTURE DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED

In the summer of 2001, Route66Patrol.com sponsored the First “Route 66 Law Enforcement Rally.”  This event involved over 100 state, county and municipal law enforcement agencies from Chicago Illinois to Santa Monica California.  We had over 75 vintage and new Law Enforcement vehicles join us during this rally.  Since the approval by the U.S. Congress of U.S. Highway 66 as a Historic Route, this important and famous stretch of blacktop has been in the media spotlight.

As our history has documented, this road has led to the development of our western states. Route 66 was the major link of America’s intercontinental commerce (both legal and illegal).  Law Enforcement agencies all along this historic highway have been combating illegal activities for nearly 80 years.  Inter-departmental cooperation through the years has resulted in closing the files on many major criminals.  Improved traffic safety on the interstate corridor has resulted from the presence and patrolling of our state, county and municipal law enforcement officers.

Participate with us!

We would like to invite active and retired Law Enforcement, Fire Departments and vintage Police Car/Emergency vehicle enthusiasts to participate in this event.

There are several levels of participation available.  Of course, the highest level of participation would be for your department to send a representative along for the entire 11-day trip.  If this is not possible, a member of your department can escort our group of patrol units as we pass through your community, county or state.  Another level of participation would include a special welcome ceremony for our group upon arrival or tour of your department's facilities.

Activities along the way include visits with other participating departments, training academies, and special units in all eight states along Route 66.  The purpose of this event is to promote a positive image for law enforcement as well as the Historic Route 66 corridor.

I would like to discuss your agencies support and participation in this event.  Give us a call at 800-455-8687 or via e-mail at contact@route66patrol.com
